| Under general supervision, develops, implements, and maintains database data access procedures with respect to application and back office processing, documentation, security, performance and validation checks. Includes application transact structured query language (T-SQL) and data extraction, transformation and load processes (ETL). Consults with and advises developers and users on access to various databases. Devises or modifies reporting procedures to solve complex problems considering limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Competent to work at all levels of database and report development, but may require instruction and guidance in some areas. |
| Duties and Responsibilities: |
| • |
Design and implement T-SQL data access methods and data ETL processes (stored procedures, views, triggers, data transformation services and data junction packages). |
| • |
Validate and test T-SQL data access methods and data ETL processes to ensure peek performance and durability. |
| • |
Analyze data points for all business units. Gather and document requirements for data access and reporting. |
| • |
Develop or modify complex reporting solutions using tools such as Reporting Services, Prism, Enterprise Reporting, and programming languages such as SQL and XSL. |
| • |
Inventory, analyze and document system data access and processing. |
| • |
Collaborate with Data Architecture/Design to define data access improvements, reduce redundancy in the enterprise and define database maintenance processes. |

| Qualifications: |
| • |
A four year college degree and three to five years of relevant experience. |
| • |
Strong T-SQL development and troubleshooting skills are preferred. |
| • |
Strong ETL development and troubleshooting skills are preferred. |
| • |
Data Transformation Services and Data Junction experience is preferred. |
| • |
Competence in Java and/or C# is preferred. |
| • |
General understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle and/or DB/2 data access methods and tuning is preferred. |
| • |
Experience using Microsoft Office products. |
| • |
Good to expert knowledge of business units** functions and data are preferred. |
| • |
Strong report analysis and creation skills. |
| • |
Exceptional interpersonal skills (negotiation, team-building, positive thinking, can-do attitude, and job flexibility). |
| • |
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. |
| • |
Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills. |

BS in Electrical/Computer engineering or equivalent experience. |
| • |
CCNA / CCNP /Juniper would be Plus. |

Around 1-2 years IP networking experience with a complete understanding of IP internetworking and routing. |

Thorough understanding of the OSI Model. |
| • |
Complete understanding of OSPF and BGP. |
| • |
Working experience with Cisco, Nortel and Juniper routed and switched network devices. |
| • |
Knowledge of Transport technologies including DWDM and SONET. |
| • |
Working experience with technical writing and documentation (Microsoft Office Tools, Visio, Outlook, etc). |

Understanding of the Unix operating system. |
| • |
Understanding of Sniffer software and hardware analysis tools. |
| • |
Understanding of MPLS connectivity and configuration. |
| • |
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written) |

Advanced troubleshooting skills & problem solving abilities Preferred: |

Router & Network Test Equipment Experience * Experience with OSPF, BGP, and MPLS |

of four years of college including
coursework and training in
