Description |
|
GMS has provided transport network optimization services for several wireless operators. In their experiences, GMS engineers have identified opportunities and achieved significant cost savings through practical network engineering and billing strategies. GMS outlines a process to collect, organize, and validate network circuit data and to identify opportunities for the wireless operators to reduce transport network expenses through the reconciliation of the network data with the billing records.
Reconciliation of network and billing data represents an opportunity to realize transport savings quickly. Beyond billing reconciliation, this data processing will enable wireless operators to develop baseline models for each active market using network inventory and design tools. Furthermore, the data collected can be used to build a comprehensive network inventory and design database to support ongoing design, provisioning, and maintenance functions. |
|
The process involved in this is briefly summarized:
• Gather, validate, and organize transport network and billing data.
• Identify discrepancies between transport network records and billing records.
• Identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses through alternative transport strategies or contact negotiation.
• If circuits are not found in Granite verify circuits with OPS team or any other assigned Wireless team.
• Based on Wireless Team output either issue ASR to disconnect circuit or process for building in Granite.
• Recommend and implementation plan or strategy to realize the prospective savings. |
