Providing the service to the end user perspective is the big challenge for wireless operator today, while they are serving various services to the plenty of customers. Thus for wireless operator key to attract the customers is by providing them new services and improved network quality. In order to provide the new services and technology, wireless carriers have to enhance their network. Enhancement of network will introduce the additional work of monitoring of the Network Infrastructure. Casa Bytes has designed the solution called RTP (Remote Test Probe) for wireless operators for auto testing and monitoring in large Wireless operator network.
RCAT-RTP (RCAT Remote Test Probe) for UMTS, GPRS, GSM enables wireless service providers to actively monitor and improve the quality of services they deliver to their end costumers.
The RTP uses actual mobile phone to test voice, data and messaging services for subscriber within its UMTS, GPRS, GSM network. It is rack mountable unit that can be deployed through out the carrier’s network. The RTP is remotely accessed by RCAT interface, Web-Based Qos Director or telnet over Ethernet, dialup or serial port.
RTP is capable for supporting multiple RCATS Service Validation Packages (SVP), such as Basic Voice, Basic Data, Supplementary services, SMS, MMS and others. This enables operator to select the specific services they wish to monitor and also provide flexibility to add some mote package as per the requirement.
Wireless operators require RCAT solution for auto testing to deployed in remote location, thus it is necessary to make RCAT accessible in EDN (Enterprise Data Network). GMS has study out the requirement and given the solution consist of Cisco 2651XM Router and Cisco 3550 Switch, this allows Auto testing unit to be accessed centrally into the Enterprise Data Network.
