IT & Engineering Talent

Technical recruiting backed
by technical expertise.

Over 32 years GMS has placed more than 10,000 technical professionals.
We don’t just read engineering resumes. We understand the technology behind them, because the
same firm runs an engineering practice delivering the work we hire for.

How it works

An engineer sits in the intake call.

Most agencies screen against a keyword list because nobody on the recruiting side
can evaluate the answer. Ours can, because they work alongside people shipping the same stack
every week.

Intakean engineer joins Sourcenetwork + market Technical screen by someone who does the work Short listnot a pipeline Placementbench stays available THE SCREEN IS THE DIFFERENCE. EVERYTHING ELSE IS LOGISTICS.

// You see a short list, not a pipeline. Fewer interviews, higher hit rate,
// and your senior engineers get their afternoons back.

Why it matters

The reqs that sit open for months.

The roles clients struggle with are rarely junior. They are the platform engineer who has
actually run an EKS upgrade in production, the security engineer who can write an IAM policy
rather than describe one, the data engineer who has debugged a failing Airflow DAG at 2am.

Those people are hard to identify from a resume, because the resume looks identical to
someone who has read about the work. A recruiter without technical depth cannot tell the
difference, so the difference lands in your interview loop and costs your senior engineers
their week.

That is the whole argument for this practice. GMS delivers cloud, DevOps,
security, data and AI engagements with its own engineers. The recruiting side sits next to that
bench, screens against it, and knows what a real answer sounds like.

Engagement models

Six ways to add capacity.

Different problems need different commercial shapes, and the right one depends on
whether the need is durable or temporary.

Contract staffing

A specific engineer for a specific gap, working
under your direction for a defined period. The fastest way to add a skill you do not have.

Contract-to-hire

Work together before either side commits. Sensible
when the role is new and the requirements are still moving.

Direct hire

We source, screen and present. You hire onto your own
payroll and we step out.

Staff augmentation

Engineers embedded into your existing team, your
existing process and your existing standards.

Dedicated teams

A team assembled around your requirements and managed
as a unit, when the work is bigger than one seat.

Specialized architects

Senior expertise for a decision or a design
rather than a headcount. Short, deep, then out.

Roles we place

The hard ones.

Cloud & infrastructure

AWS engineers, cloud architects, DevOps
engineers, platform engineers, Kubernetes and EKS engineers, site reliability engineers,
Microsoft and Azure engineers.

Security & compliance

Cloud security engineers, IAM engineers,
application security, compliance and GRC engineers, security operations.

Data, AI & software

Data engineers, analytics engineers, AI and
machine learning engineers, software and full stack engineers, technical leadership.

What we will not do

We will not send you a pipeline of loosely matched resumes and let your engineers do the
screening. If we cannot find the right person we will tell you, and if the role as written is
not fillable at the rate or in the market you are targeting, you will hear that on the intake
call rather than six weeks later.

Need engineering? Need engineers? Need both?

GMS can provide either side of the equation, or run both together on the same
engagement.
